About Ian
Ian works with individuals, couples and families who are looking for help in a variety of ways. His experience and training involve issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, loneliness, past trauma, fears, phobias, relationship concerns, teenager issues, career issues and addictions. It is also common however, for a client not to fit neatly a category.
You may just have something that’s been on your mind lately and you want to talk it through. Ian’s approach to psychotherapy offers you a safe, non-judgemental time to explore your inner experience. If you are new to psychotherapy or counselling, you may wonder how long this will take?
Ian’s work is based on recognition of each client as a unique individual. This means your length of therapy is up to you. Many people find that after just one session, they feel a significant therapeutic effect, simply because they’ve given themselves the opportunity to “get their problem out”.
You might want to just stop there, or alternatively 6-10 sessions often result in a further noticeable difference from most clients’ points of view.
Occasionally, clients find the unravelling of their inner story nurturing enough, and so beneficial … exciting even, that they continue on for quite a while. So, back to you ... how long will your therapy last? As psychotherapy progresses you will find you become aware that the choice is yours.
There are of course many other questions which you may have.
If so, please feel free to give Ian an obligation free call, on 0407 431 831 and he’ll cover them for you.
